Put your hearts up

I have always read in a lot of books, blogs, etc. that your thoughts define your reality. Like, if you think positive, beautiful thoughts about yourself and others, your life will begin to change, too. I always accepted that as a given. I mean, it makes sense. But I never really thought about putting it into practice.

The past couple of weeks, I have really made an effort to be much more positive. Not getting annoyed easily, smiling a lot more, and making the best of the beautiful life I have been blessed with. And I can honestly say, it has worked. I honestly feel so much more love around me and in my heart :) It's a truly wonderful feeling!

And this afternoon, as I was listening to Ariana Grande (love her music!) I really started thinking more about positivity. Her music and her message is all about love - loving and accepting others and yourself, and just being a beacon of positivity and happiness :)

This gets me onto my next thought...I am a Christian. A Catholic, to be exact. At university, I have made a lot of new friends, and the majority of them are non-denominational Christians. I love them to bits, but there is one thing we often don't agree on - and that is our beliefs about heaven. They believe that giving your life to Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. And I won't insult that belief, because that is what they believe and I accept that.

By contrast, I have always believed that if you are a wonderful person, living by Christian values, you are ultimately connected to God - because God is love, and you are showing love. However, because I spend so much time with my Christian friends, I have adopted a mindset of judgement that I really don't like. For example, I will see a person who is not Christian, and my mind will automatically think "ooh dear that person has got it wrong." I hate how my thoughts reflect a mindset of superiority.

I want to get rid of this mindset. I want to focus on spreading the love to those who need it, to light up people's days :) I want to stop judging people in my head. Of course I will remain firm in my Catholic beliefs, but I honestly believe if I have a more open, positive mind, I can improve my own life, and that of others :)

Fantastimagical Friday - Calm

Calm (adjective): Not showing or feeling nervousness, anger, or other emotions

Life has been a bit of a stress recently...so I made a little collage to go on my desktop, to remind me, everyday, to slow down, breathe and savour every moment :) It's also a reminder of all the beautiful things in life.

Calm calm calm

Random musings

is it just me, or does my blog seem strangely materialistic? it seems it to me, what with all these OMGs and exclaimations over t-shirts and actors... i think i should have a more classic approach in my blog, like, little musings, gorgeous pics and little things about my day that most people forget to relish and enjoy, like the sun rising while you're curled up in bed in the morning, curling up by the fire in winter, or even writing a poem. i think that is what i will go for from now on, because i can't seem to keep up with the whole product promotion thing!
to begin i will show you a picture of some of my jewellery in the beautiful jewellery box i inherited from my great-grandmother...i took it a couple of months ago looking for inspiration:

lol i hope you like...hehe. well i have to go and jump back to reality...

pink kisses,

Courtney

My fave actress/character of the moment...Ashley Greene/Alice Cullen!

Hey all!!

I know a lot of people are obsessed with Twilight at the moment...including me!! But I have noticed that since the release of the movie, fans have gone completely gaga for leading lady Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), and hunkalicious R.Pats (Edward Cullen!), yet some of the other leads and their characters are not getting so much attention...

I have to say, my fave character in the books is Alice Cullen, and the actress who plays her, Ashley Greene, does an awesome job at portraying the quirky, fun-loving vampire!

So, here's a little bit about her and her character...

ASHLEY GREENE

ALICE CULLEN

Alice Cullen (born Mary Alice Brandon) is the adopted daughter of Carlisle and Esme, adoptive sister of Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett, and wife of Jasper. Alice is described as being petite and pixie-like at 4'10", with a graceful gait and hair that is short, spiky, and black. Her special ability is to see the future, an enhanced version of her ability to have premonitions as a human. However, her ability is limited; she is only able to see the outcome of a decision once it is made. Due to this, decisions made in the spur of the moment can not be foreseen. Alice can see futures involving humans and vampires, though is unable to see the futures of werewolves or half-breeds. In Breaking Dawn, Alice theorizes that she can see vampires very clearly because she is one, can see humans somewhat less clearly because she was one, and cannot see werewolves or half-breeds because she never was one. Alice is portrayed as being bubbly and optimistic, and loves and cares for Bella like a sister. Her hobbies include shopping, make-overs, and throwing parties. Alice's early history is very vague, as she remembers nothing of her human life and woke up alone as a vampire. It is eventually revealed that she was born around 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was kept in an asylum because she had premonitions. Alice was changed by an old vampire who worked at the asylum in order to protect her from James, a tracker vampire who was hunting her.
Enjoy!
